Let me provide a short introduction about myself. I have served in the Indian Air Force for 25 Years as a In-Flight Navigator and a Group Testing Officer.
As a Flight Navigator in AN 32 Aircraft, I had specialised in Para drop and Supply drop operations in our border areas. As a flight navigator, I have carried out countless drop sorties in both our eastern borders like Arunachal Pradesh as well as our northern borders like Sia-chin and Aksai-chin.
After my flying tenure, I have served as a Group Testing Officer in AFSB Dehradun and as a senior GTO at AFSB Mysore. During my tenure at the selection boards, I had not only assessed around 2000 candidates but have also trained other officers to become effective GTOs.
I was once posted at Air Force Head Quarters to manage the complete Officer Selection System. Officer selection process includes right from issue of advertisement, administering written tests as well as monitoring your SSB interviews.
My role continues after SSB interviews by way of monitoring medical examination, preparation of merit list and finally issue of joining letters to successful candidates. In fact, there are many officers currently in service who had received joining letters signed by me.
During my tenure in Air Headquarters, I was instrumental in creation of Airforce Common Admission Test called AFCAT. This was part of a huge streamlining process for induction in the Airforce.
After commencement of AFCAT, I was also involved in setting up of an online portal for AFCAT. The portal was designed to serve the complete application process for AFCAT.
After my retirement, I have served as a Chief Ground Instructor in two flying schools. One of them is Orient Flights at Mysore and the other is Aviacons at Hyderabad.
Till date, I continue to teach ground subject for pilots online for Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence
